About SoGreen
Future research themes
While not part of the project’s core scope, SoGreen lays the foundation for future research across a wide range of interdisciplinary themes.
By combining longitudinal, spatial, and environmental data, the project opens new opportunities to explore how demographic and social factors shape — and are shaped by — green transition policies. Below we highlight a few research directions that SoGreen could meaningfully support in the years ahead.
Intergenerational Justice
- How demographic change (including ageing) interact with green transition pillars/ policies, from energy use to mobility and housing needs.
- Contributing to discussions on social equity and long-term environmental well-being
- Exploring barriers and enables of green policy acceptance
Social Inequality, Vulnerability, and Just Transition
- Exploring the distributional consequences of green policies – who benefits, who pays, and how to ensure fair outcomes, anticipate consequences
- Contribute to older and vulnerable populations
Data and Evidence for Policy
- Translating high-quality longitudinal data into actionable, policy-relevant insights on green transformations.
